In the final stage of your Type Rating training you will embark on Base Training. Base training, or “touch and go’s”, is the final part of you initial type rating training and your first chance to get your hands on the real thing – the aircraft itself! In six circuits, you will manoeuvre the aircraft in traffic patterns meaning take off and landings in a Boeing 737! It is an important part of your training because you will work through a variety of situations in the aircraft. You can prepare in a simulator to perfection but it is a different experience in the air!
